FutureLab Europe (finished)

Futurelab Europe was established in 2011 as a collaboration between ten European Foundations, including Fritt Ord.

The European Policy Center in Brussels was responsible for the practical implementation. The program was aimed at enthusiastic young people between 20 and 30 who wished to participate in debate and influence the future course of Europe. The main focus was European participation, equal opportunities and European identity.

18 new participants in FutureLab Europe

The seventh group of FutureLab participants met last week in Brussels for a tightly-packed programme featuring workshops, debates and meetings with key EU politicians. The topics discussed included political participation, populism, and young people’s opportunities to influence decision-makers in Brussels. Following this session, the group will continue working with their own projects related to civil society and local democracy in their respective countries. The projects may involve e.g. photo exhibitions, media projects, school visits, training or debates.

This year's new participant in FutureLab Europe

The FutureLab Europe programme focuses on young people between the ages of 20 and 30 who would like to take part in debates and influence the future of Europe. One member of this year’s group of 20 individuals from all over Europe is Norwegian Stine Solvoll Navarsete. She will be heading for Brussels in January 2017 to participate in FutureLab’s annual forum.

Call for applications: FutureLab Europe – The Council of Young European Citizens

Are you interested in European issues? FutureLab Europe focuses on enthusiastic young people between the ages of 20 and 30 who would like to take part in debates and influence the future of Europe. The primary focus in 2017 is on democratic values, equal opportunities for young people and European identity. Participants in the programme are given a chance to carry out a project related to these three core areas, e.g. a blog, a photo exhibition, a short film, a series of school visits or a series of debates.

At the Gates/In Transit: Photo exhibition and seminar at the main Deichman Library

The photo exhibition “At the Gates/In Transit”, sponsored by the Fritt Ord Foundation, can be seen at the main Deichman Library for the rest of this week. The exhibition focuses on refugees and asylum-seekers in Greece and Finland, and it is part of the project “”http://www.futurelabeurope.eu/fortress-europe-from-a-youth-perspective.html">Fortress Europe – from a Youth Perspective".

The programme focuses on engaged young people between the ages of 20 and 30 who would like to take part in debates and influence the future of Europe. The deadline for applications is 16 March 2015.
