Since its inception, Fritt Ord has had media and journalism as one of its core target areas. In today’s demanding media situation, the Foundation has set up separate grant and subsidy schemes for journalists and critics.
Since its inception, Fritt Ord has had media and journalism as one of its core target areas. In today’s demanding media situation, the Foundation has set up separate grant and subsidy schemes for journalists and critics.
The Fritt Ord Foundation annonced in 2017 a new programme for Norwegian journalism. The Foundation is allocating up to MNOK 25 annually for four years for journalistic projects, with six annual application deadlines.
The Fritt Ord Foundation provide ten annual grants of NOK 200 000 each for critics who write for Norwegian daily or weekly newspapers, or who write reviews for TV/radio.
The Fritt Ord Foundation offers a 6-month fellowship at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford, commencing annualy in January.
The Fritt Ord Foundation invited applications for MNOK 10 annually over three years for journalism projects, starting in 2015. The programme was entitled ‘Quality Journalism in a New Era’.
