Fritt Ord Journalism Fellowship for 2021 awarded to Tor Kjetil Kristoffersen

“The Fritt Ord Journalism Fellowship” at Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford for the period January – July 2021 has been awarded to Tor Kjetil Kristoffersen, news editor at Finnmark Dagblad.

During his stay, Kristoffersen will be studying how the Sámi are presented in Norwegian media compared with how indigenous peoples in Canada (“First Nations”, Inuits and Métis) are presented in Canadian media.

New Oxford fellow – How Journalists Interview “Monsters and Victims”

VG journalist Håkon F. Høydal has been awarded Fritt Ord’s journalism fellowship at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford in the spring of 2026.
His project explores what journalists can learn from new trauma research when interviewing both “monsters and victims” in crime and abuse cases.
