Allocations for ordinary grants of less than NOK 100 000 awarded in June 2021: Festivals

July 2 2021

The Fritt Ord Foundation’s list of allocations has been updated to include grants in response to ordinary project applications for NOK 100 000 or less and minor grants for festivals in June 2021.

The roughly 125 grants awarded for June 2021 included allocations for 45 festivals, seminars and conferences. For example, FRI (the Association for Gender and Sexual Diversity) Trøndelag County received NOK 50 000 for Trondheim Pride, the country’s third largest Pride celebration, which is scheduled for 3 – 12 September 2021. The organisers describe the festival as an homage to queer diversity and love, featuring queer meeting places and a political and cultural programme.
NOK 50 000 were also allocated to the Norwegian Patient Organization for Gender Incongruence (PKI) and their new programme TransPride. The festival will focus on trans positivity and trans futures, offering digital and physical events in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim during the period from 1 – 5 September 2021. The programme includes lectures, workshops, panel discussions, a film festival and art exhibits.
