Launch of The Norwegian Journal of Photography #3

We are pleased to welcome the public to a launch party for the third edition of The Norwegian Journal of Photography at the Fritt Ord Foundation’s premises at 7 p.m. on Friday, 21 April.

NJP #3 is being published by Journal Publishing House. At the launch, the photographers will give a brief presentation of their projects. The Canadian VII-photographer Donald Weber, author of the preface to the book, will deliver a lecture about Norwegian and Nordic documentary photography in an international perspective.

In addition, the new group of photographers for the fourth edition of The Norwegian Journal of Photography will be introduced.

It will be possible to purchase The Norwegian Journal of Photography after the launch.

The rap duo Karpe has been awarded the Freedom of Expression Foundation Tribute for giving voice to the experiences of many young people from minority backgrounds. Through the language of rap, they are expanding the space for the expression of identity and belonging.

Where do people draw the line when it comes to freedom of expression, and what do they believe to be the greatest threats to an informed debate at a time characterised by unrest, crises and international conflicts? Do they feel there is sufficient diversity of opinion and enough room for divergent viewpoints? And how do people assess access to truthful and relevant information in a media landscape featuring new formats, new voices and artificial intelligence?
