Natallja Lubnewskaya reports on people who have been oppressed by the authorities, and on the random arrests made at peaceful protests and demonstrations.
She has also reported on the outbreak of Covid-19 in Belarus, which was initially denied by the authorities, then subsequently ignored. Natallja Lubnewskaya, who works for the weekly newspaper Nasha Niva, is receiving a Free Media Award for her moving texts and her perseverance in the face of obstacles. In August 2020, she was shot in the knee by the police, requiring her to spend more than a month in hospital. Afterwards, she resumed her work without hesitation.
